The stereo in Yazoo 25 died today. I will not say that it was destroyed through any sort of intention or negligence, but suffice it to say that the lance corporals were cleaning the vehicle and the stereo didn’t work afterwards. I asked a few questions, but the lance corporals were vague about what happened, to put it mildly. Some mutterings of ‘cleaning’ and ‘moved stereo’ and ‘sparks’, and then the stereo didn’t work. They might have mentioned something about ‘smoke’, too.
I am not particularly upset over it, as we don’t have that long left in country. I really did like music on missions, and I am sorry that we won’t be able to pass on the gear to somebody else. But mostly I will miss the music. Combat deserves a soundtrack.
