I was told at approximately 1800, 29 Mar 05, that I have to report to the reserve center by 31 Mar 05 for mobilization. As the Marines have not bothered to grace me with orders, I am currently on a trip for work that ends 1 Apr 05.

If I follow Capt Freitas’ instructions to ‘get here as soon as possible’ (by coming as planned to the reserve center after work on Friday), I will not see my wife before going to where ever we end up going. Likewise, I do not have any gear with me other than a single set of BDUs.

Capt Freitas’ informs me that they will fax me orders while on my trip. Outside of being a rather unfeasible plan as airplanes don’t have fax machines and the reserve center is usually closed by the time I get to a hotel, I still will not be able to turn my orders to my employer until the end of my trip on Friday.
