Just got off the phone with Capt Freitas. There is essentially no way I can get the FAC qual, which, in my opinion, is good news. This means that I will be air officer, which is a full on staff position. We will be our own det working with the Poles in some place that I can only spell phonetically, but is allegedly very improved. To the point where laptops (and X Boxes, I hope) are recommended. Most of the message traffic is about improvements to the camp (Hey, we tiled the showers!), and VERY little about combat stuff.

Also got permission to report on 4 April 05. Be nice to have the weekend at home. Mobilized on Monday, then off to Camp Lejuene that night. A few days there, then Yuma to meet the Marines for desert training. Due to be in country in early May. Gear is to be provided at NRCWPB, and more at Lejuene.
