Hillah, Iraq.
If you sleep twelve hours a day, a six month deployment to Iraq only lasts three months. I only slept three hours before it was time to help Levi with work on the pool. We got the Hesco containers that make up two sides of the pool filled with dirt.
While we were working, a Russian helicopter flew into camp.
Not that a Russian helicopter is particularly noteworthy, but I didn’t do that much today so I am really trying to make this more interesting, and pictures of airplanes is all I got.
After working on the pool, I was tired, so I figured I would take a bit of a nap. I woke up six hours later. I then had to hustle to finish all my paperwork by close of business.
Nearly half a dozen of the Green Berets are up for re-enlistment. The Army is offering substantial cash bonuses to stay in, and they are all taking it. They have decided to build a giant sweepstakes type check out of plywood, fill in their names and the bonus amount, and get their pictures taken with the Captain when they re-enlist.
I enjoyed supper in shorts and a tshirt. Victory for the forces of good..Nearly half a dozen of the Green Berets are up for re-enlistment.
