And I didn’t get paid! Surprise, surprise. The military runs quite well at steady state. When you change something, being promotion or transfer to another unit or the like, the system has a tremendous lag that takes a while to catch up. I called the reserve center, but they couldn’t help me as I am now on active duty. Guess I will have to wait until Monday to get the personnel people to work the problem.
Before I left for San Diego to visit Keith, I went to the computer center to get email. The computer center has a boatload of desktops and X Boxes.
Personal computers are not to be used, but I unplug an X Box discretely for my mail. I caught caught by the center manager and barista, who didn’t have the nerve just to tell me to stop it. He hemmed and hawed about not supposed to use personal computers because of ‘viruses and stuff’, and generally being a weirner about the whole thing. For reasons I cannot really explain, the whole affair irritated me.

Met Keith at the airport, and had a great time hanging out with him. Didn’t do much other than go grab some dinner.
