21 April

Fallon, NV.

I spent most of the day getting packed up, and bills cleared. I got all packed up so that all I had to do was pack my FAC stuff, then sleep. I finally got a hold of the Marine rep in Yuma, who agreed that I could have the weekend off. Family day is Monday. Plan to pack Tuesday, and then on liberty until 25 April for Family Day.

I called WPB about the return trip. Conversation went something like this:
Me: I was wondering about my return trip.
WPB: It is taken care of, sir.
Me: Ah. I see. Well, my travel has me going back to San Antonio, and I was
hoping to go to Atlanta.
WPB: No, sir. We got that all squared away. We faxed you the changes.
Me: I see. And where did you fax them?
WPB: (annoyed tone) To Yuma, sir.
Me: That’s interesting. I am in Fallon.
WPB: …..
WPB: You’re in Fallon, sir?
Me: Yep.
WPB: Can I call you back in five minutes, sir?
Me: Oo-rah.

Night CAS rocked. We worked sort of an overhead wagon wheel with two divisions of two planes, with bombs on target every minute. It was cool, and you can really get steel on target in a hurry. 13 controls.
